The minimum start-up plan would be for breakfast, the meal most people miss, one Formula 1 shake a day plus one Formula 2 multi-vitamin three times a day and a fibre and herb three times a day. The Formula 1 will give a balance of all nutrients and vitamins plus a power source of soya which is a slow release over 2-3 hours, ensuring that the body doesn't go into a situation where it draws on the resources that have been depleted in the night, which otherwise (if your don't eat in the morning), create highs and lows of blood sugar levels leading to cravings for sugary or savoury snacks.
A healthy rate of weight loss is 2 lbs a week, people should not be taken in by these 'biggest loser' programs with people apparently losing one stone a week because this is unsustainable and dangerous to your health. In fact it's amazing that these programs can be promoted when nutrition companies are prohibited by law from claiming any weight loss results are guaranteed over a short period of time. The World Health Organisation and the British Medical Council agree that 2 lbs or 1 kg per week through good nutrition is a safe rate, so be realistic about your goals and targets.

Hydration

All the programs that we talk about require people to ensure they are well hydrated, the minimum intake of water per 24 hours should be two litres (or eight glasses). It's worth knowing that your body uses 1.7 litres per day just to exist; breathing, digestion and blood production etc. We have a natural inbuilt gauge that will tell you if you are hydrated, it's as simple as when you spend a penny if you're urine is bright, dark or yellow, you are dehydrated. It should be clear or straw coloured. Manual or physical workers will need more hydration. Another reason that hydration is important is that in many cases when people are overweight or obese they put it down to being constantly hungry when it is actually the fact that their craving is due to dehydration because the brain often translates dehydration to hunger. If someone is involved in sport or heavy physical activity, it is often a good idea to have three shakes a day. In fact, if anybody is on a weight loss program and finds themselves feeling hungry, we would recommend an extra shake because it will fill you up, give you good nutrition and at only 220 calories, is about the same as four chocolate biscuits.
